Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources
The Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources at the University of Adelaide is a global leader in the development of technologies and methodologies that will enable humans to return to deep space. Our researchers include students and staff from every school on the campus.
As our focus is on human beings, thus, every discipline is required to tackle the challenges of long-duration human spaceflight.
Projects undertaken by our researchers include human-robot teaming (combining disciplines such as psychology, mechanical engineering, and artificial intelligence) to building sustainable structures on the Moon and Mars using local materials (combining architecture, civil engineering, construction, and mechanical engineering).
From law, to education, to humanities, to science and engineering, our students and staff are partnering with both domestic and international government space agencies and industry to not only solve multi-disciplinary challenges but to motivate and educate students of all ages.
With globally unique facilities that simulate the surface environments of the Moon and Mars, join us as we develop revolutionary technologies that can both operate in the harsh environment of space and help us in giving our own planet a more sustainable and green future.
